Robert Yee
Robert Yee is a Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer in the Program on Ethics, Politics and Economics at Yale University. He works on the economic history of modern Europe, with a focus on business history, finance, and international orders. His first book, The City’s Defense: The Bank of England and the Remaking of Economic Governance, was published with Cambridge University Press. He has also published articles in the Business History Review, Contemporary British History, Contemporary European History, the Financial History Review, and Studies in Applied Economics.
He received a PhD and MA in History from Princeton University and a BA in History and Economics from Vanderbilt University. In 2024, his dissertation was awarded the Economic History Society’s Thirsk–Feinstein Prize. Before coming to Yale, he taught at the University of Oxford.
